Virginia Tech vs. Florida State University
Mon, 04/13/2009 - 12:55pm — jsanAn SELC rivalry like none other. Both teams came out with intensity and energy from the get go. Ben Cole scored the first goal of the game for VT. Virginia Tech was never up by more than 2 goals for the entire first half and Florida State was chasing the Hokies on the scoreboard. The score was 8-6 at the half, but once again the Hokies had a strong third quarter to go up by 4. Tech was up 7 goals late in the fourth until FSU scored the last 2 goals of the game for a 17-12 final. Excellent play from the defense and great goalkeeping from Jason Daniel gave Virginia Tech the win.

Mon, 04/13/2009 - 12:50pm — jsanClemson put up a hard battle but the Hokies came out on top. Tech stepped up the intensity this week knowing they had something to prove after a tough loss to Michigan State. The energy had to be up with two division games this weekend.

Thu, 04/02/2009 - 2:16pm — jsanThe Hokies came out flat and went started off poorly. There was sloppy play all over the field for the first 3 quarters where the score was 11-6. The Hokies made a 4 goal run in the 4th to try and win the game but the defecit was too much to overcome and Tech lost 12-10.
Virginia Tech vs. University of Pittsburgh
Thu, 04/02/2009 - 2:12pm — jsanThe Hokies traveled to Pittsburgh fired up for the game. There was no question who the better team was on the field and Tech put up 19 goals to the Panthers 4. Brian Nolen netted 6 goals and 1 assist for his season high point total.
Virginia Tech vs. University of Kentucky
Sun, 03/22/2009 - 11:34pm — jsanKentucky played Virginia Tech close early in the game, but the Hokies pulled further away as the game progressed by taking precise high percentage shots. Tech held Kentucky scoreless for the second half of the game and had hat tricks from numerous players.
Virginia Tech vs. University of Georgia
Sun, 03/22/2009 - 11:31pm — jsanThe Hokies and the Georgia Bulldogs played a very intense game from beginning to end. The Hokies led most of the way, however, the lead never exceeded 2 goals. UGA managed to tie the game in the 4th quarter, but David Gouldey started a fast break that would lead to Brian Nolen's winning goal late in the game.

Virginia Tech vs. Grand Canyon University
Mon, 03/16/2009 - 5:37pm — jsanThe Hokies looked flat the entire game after losing the previous day to BYU. The Hokies managed to get a win despite the lack in energy. The game came down to a GCU man up posession with 18 seconds left. Virginia Tech's man down unit forced an errant pass that ended the game at 15-14.

Mon, 03/16/2009 - 5:33pm — jsanVirginia Tech kept the game close at half, but as the third quarter started, the Cougars proved to be well conditioned and put the game out of the Hokies reach. The final score was 16-7 BYU.
